Terms of Service

Last updated: August 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the web calculators, REST API, and MCP server provided at stupidlyclever.com and api.stupidlyclever.com (together, "the Service"), operated by Stupidly Clever ("we", "us").

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Service — whether through the website, the REST API, or the MCP server — you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of the service

The Service consists of three parts, all backed by the same underlying calculation logic:

  • Web calculators — free, browser-based tools at stupidlyclever.com, usable without an account or API key.
  • REST API — programmatic access to the same calculators at api.stupidlyclever.com/v1/, requiring an API key.
  • MCP server — a Model Context Protocol endpoint at api.stupidlyclever.com/mcp, exposing the same functionality as tools for AI agents, requiring an API key.

We may add, modify, or remove individual calculators or endpoints at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to avoid breaking changes to existing REST/MCP request or response shapes without notice.

3. Accounts and API keys

Accessing the REST API or MCP server requires an account and an API key. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at support@stupidlyclever.com if you believe a key has been compromised — we can revoke and reissue a key on request.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to permit others to, using the Service:

  • Exceed the rate limits of your plan, or attempt to circumvent rate limiting (e.g. by using multiple keys or accounts to evade a limit)
  • Share, sell, sublicense, or publish your API key for use by others outside your own organization
  • Probe, scan, or test the Service for vulnerabilities without prior written permission
  • Use the Service to build a directly competing calculator/API product by systematically reselling its raw output as a substitute for your own service
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law, or to process data you don't have the right to process
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to it

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke API access for accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity.

5. Payment and billing

Paid plans (Starter, Pro) are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices and plan call limits are shown on the pricing page and may change with notice; continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access continues until then.

Refund policy. Subscription fees are non-refundable for API usage already available to you during a billing period — we do not issue refunds or credits for partial months, unused calls, or calls already consumed. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@stupidlyclever.com and we will review it.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The web calculators, REST API, and MCP server are provided for informational purposes only. Results are not, and should not be relied upon as, financial, legal, medical, tax, or professional advice of any kind. You are solely responsible for verifying any result before relying on it, and for any decision made using it.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculation results will be accurate or complete for your specific circumstances.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Stupidly Clever shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service, or delete your account, at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service — including revoking API keys — at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, poses a security or legal risk, or for any other reason at our discretion, including discontinuing the Service entirely.

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, and 9) will survive.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
